Using the Law of Attraction Through Self-Love, Alignment & Inspired Action
What if the way you think about your desires could become a doorway to discovering more of who you are and what is possible for your life?
The Law of Attraction has fascinated me for years because it invites us to become more conscious of our thoughts, beliefs, emotions, attention and choices.
But over time, I’ve come to see manifestation as more than simply thinking positively or trying to make something happen.
For me, conscious creation begins much deeper:
Self-love → clarity → aligned thoughts → embodiment → inspired action → conscious creation.
We may not control every circumstance in our lives. We may not be able to prevent every unwanted thought from appearing. But we can become more intentional about the thoughts we continue to nurture, the beliefs we strengthen, the emotions we cultivate and the direction we choose.
And that is where our personal power begins.
You Have the Power to Direct Your Thoughts
One of the most empowering aspects of the Law of Attraction is recognizing that you can participate consciously in the direction of your attention.
If your mind continually focuses on lack, fear, doubt and everything that could go wrong, it can become difficult to see possibility.
But when you begin intentionally directing your attention toward abundance, gratitude, possibility, love, confidence and what you genuinely desire, you begin looking at your life through a different lens.
This doesn’t mean pretending that problems don’t exist.
It doesn’t mean denying difficult emotions.
And it doesn’t mean forcing yourself to think positive thoughts when you don’t genuinely believe them.
Instead, it means becoming aware of where your attention is going and learning to redirect it toward what you want to nurture.
Instead of:
“What if everything goes wrong?”
You might ask:
“What if everything works out?”
Instead of:
“Why don’t I have what I want?”
You might choose:
“I am open to receiving what I desire.”
Instead of:
“This will never happen for me.”
You might practice:
“I don’t know how it will happen yet, but I am open to the possibility.”
The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is conscious direction.
5 Ways to Direct Your Thoughts Toward What You Desire
1. Notice What You’re Repeatedly Thinking
Before you can consciously redirect your thoughts, you have to become aware of them.
For one day, simply observe yourself.
What are you thinking about when you’re driving, working, walking, getting ready in the morning or lying in bed at night?
Are you repeatedly thinking about:
- What you don’t have?
- What could go wrong?
- What other people think?
- Past disappointments?
- Fear of failure?
- Or what you would genuinely love to experience?
You don’t need to judge what you discover.
Awareness comes before change.
2. Get Clear About What You Actually Desire
Sometimes we spend so much time thinking about what we don’t want that we haven’t given ourselves permission to become clear about what we actually do want.
Instead of:
“I don’t want to struggle financially.”
Ask:
“What would I love my financial life to feel like?”
Instead of:
“I don’t want to be lonely.”
Ask:
“What kind of loving, meaningful connection would I love to experience?”
Instead of:
“I don’t want to hate my job.”
Ask:
“What kind of work would allow me to express my gifts, passion and purpose?”
Your desires can become clues.
They can point toward experiences, qualities and possibilities that matter deeply to you.
So ask yourself:
What would I love to experience?
Don’t worry about knowing exactly how it will happen yet.
Start with clarity.
3. Examine the Beliefs Beneath Your Desires
This is where manifestation and self-love meet.
You may consciously desire something while holding an unconscious belief that contradicts it.
You might say:
“I want prosperity.”
But underneath that desire may be:
“People like me don’t become wealthy.”
Or:
“If I have more, people will judge me.”
Or:
“I have to work incredibly hard to deserve good things.”
You might desire a loving relationship while believing:
“I’m not lovable.”
You might want to share your gifts with the world while believing:
“Who am I to think I could do that?”
These beliefs are worth exploring—not because you are broken, but because you deserve to know what is influencing the way you see yourself and your possibilities.
Ask yourself:
Does this belief support the person I am becoming?
If not, you can begin consciously choosing something different.
4. Embody the Person You’re Becoming
This is one of the areas of conscious creation that has become especially meaningful to me.
This is where alignment becomes especially important. Alignment is about bringing your thoughts, beliefs, emotions and choices into greater harmony with the experiences you desire. (Learn more about what alignment means and how it can strengthen your manifestation practice.)
Instead of only asking:
“What do I want?”
Begin asking:
“Who am I becoming as I experience this?”
Imagine that you are already moving toward the life you desire.
How would you think?
How would you speak to yourself?
What choices would you make?
What would you no longer tolerate?
What would you give yourself permission to pursue?
How would you treat yourself?
How would you show up in the world?
It means beginning to embody the qualities of the person you are choosing to become.
If you’re creating greater confidence, practice making confident choices.
If you’re creating greater self-love, practice treating yourself with greater compassion.
If you’re creating prosperity, become curious about receiving, creating value and making empowered choices.
If you’re pursuing your passion and purpose, begin taking steps that reflect what matters to you.
Your future self isn’t simply someone you hope to become someday.
You can begin practicing that identity today.
5. Take Inspired Action
This is an important part of conscious creation.
Your thoughts matter.
Your words matter.
Your beliefs matter.
Your attention matters.
And your actions matter, too.
You don’t have to know every step that will lead you to your desired outcome.
You only need to ask:
“What is the next aligned step available to me?”
Maybe it’s making a phone call.
Starting the project.
Learning something new.
Setting a boundary.
Applying for the opportunity.
Creating the product.
Having the conversation.
Resting when you need to rest.
Or simply allowing yourself to take one small step toward something you’ve been afraid to pursue.
You don’t have to force the entire journey into existence.
Choose the direction.
Then take the next step.
You Don’t Have to Control Every Thought
One of the most important things I’ve learned is that conscious creation isn’t about never having negative thoughts.
You are human.
Fear may appear.
Doubt may appear.
Old beliefs may resurface.
You may have days when you feel completely out of alignment.
That’s okay.
The practice is not:
“I must think perfectly.”
The practice is:
Notice → Pause → Choose → Redirect.
You notice the thought.
You pause before automatically believing it.
You choose whether it deserves your continued attention.
And when appropriate, you redirect yourself toward a thought, belief or perspective that feels more aligned with where you’re going.
You don’t have to win a battle with your mind.
You can simply practice becoming its conscious director.
What About “This or Better”?
Another powerful practice I’ve embraced is becoming clear about what I desire while remaining open to the possibility that life may have something even better in store.
Sometimes we become so attached to how we think our desire must arrive that we accidentally limit the possibilities.
What if you could say:
“This-or semething even better.”
This allows you to honor your desire without requiring the Universe to fulfill it according to one specific script.
You can know what you want while remaining open.
You can have intention without attachment.
You can take inspired action while allowing life to surprise you.
Your desire can be clear while the path remains open.
My Own Experience With Manifestation
One of the reasons I continue exploring the Law of Attraction is because I’ve personally experienced what I consider significant gifts and unexpected manifestations from the Universe.
I’ve learned that manifestation isn’t always about receiving something in exactly the way I imagined.
Sometimes the gift arrives differently.
Sometimes an opportunity appears that I couldn’t have planned.
Sometimes something I thought I wanted leads me toward something that feels even more aligned.
And sometimes the manifestation begins internally—with a shift in how I see myself, what I believe is possible and what I am willing to choose.
These experiences have deepened my belief that conscious creation is not simply about getting things.
It’s also about becoming more conscious of ourselves as we move through life.
From Thought to Conscious Creation
For me, the deeper journey looks something like this:
SELF-LOVE
I recognize that I am worthy now.
↓
CLARITY
I become honest about what I genuinely desire.
↓
AWARENESS
I examine the beliefs and patterns influencing my choices.
↓
ALIGNMENT
I begin bringing my thoughts, beliefs, emotions and choices into greater harmony with what I desire.
Want to explore this step more deeply? Read What Is Alignment? Using the Law of Attraction More Powerfully to Manifest Your Desires.
↓
EMBODIMENT
I begin living as the person I am choosing to become.
↓
INSPIRED ACTION
I take meaningful steps toward what I would love to experience.
↓
CONSCIOUS CREATION
I remain open to possibility, allowing life and the Divine to participate in the unfolding.
This is the evolution of manifestation that speaks most deeply to me.
It’s not simply about manifesting something.
It’s about becoming more conscious of who you are while creating.
A Simple Practice for Today
Take five quiet minutes and write your answers to these questions:
1. What would I genuinely love to experience?
2. Why does this desire matter to me?
3. What beliefs do I currently hold about myself and this desire?
4. What would I believe if I knew it was already on it’s way to me?
5. Who would I be becoming as I experienced this?
6. What is one inspired action I can take today?
And finally:
What if this—or something even better—is possible?
Sit with that question.
You don’t have to force an answer.
Just allow yourself to consider the possibility.
You Are More Powerful Than You May Realize
The Law of Attraction isn’t, for me, about sitting back and waiting for life to change.
It’s about becoming more conscious.
Conscious of my thoughts.
Conscious of my beliefs.
Conscious of my desires.
Conscious of my choices.
Conscious of who I am becoming.
And conscious of the possibilities available to me.
I don’t have to know exactly how everything will happen.
My job is to choose the direction.
To continue returning my attention to what I want rather than allowing fear to become the author of my future.
To love and appreciate who I am today while remaining open to who I am becoming.
To align with my desires, embody them and take inspired action. If you’d like to explore the powerful connection between alignment and manifestation more deeply, I invite you to read What Is Alignment? Using the Law of Attraction More Powerfully to Manifest Your Desires.
And to remain open to this—or something better.
What would you love to experience?
Perhaps that question isn’t the end of the journey.
Perhaps it’s where your conscious creation begins.

You get to discover that for yourself.
And perhaps the most powerful question you can ask is:
What would I love to experience—and who am I becoming as I create it?
