You Don’t Need a Permission Slip to Receive

Have you ever noticed how often we create a reason or “excuse” for why we are finally “allowed” to have what we desire?

We may not call it a permission slip, but that’s often what it becomes.

We tell ourselves:

“I’ve suffered enough. I deserve to be happy now.”

“I’ve worked so hard. I deserve more money.”

“I’ve spent years taking care of everyone else. Now it’s my turn.”

“I’ve been through so much. I deserve a peaceful life.”

“I’ve done all the inner work. Now I’m ready for the relationship I want.”

“I’ve been a good person. Surely something good should happen for me.”

And sometimes, we look outside ourselves for that same validation.

A crystal.

A spiritual practice.

A healing session.

A certain number of affirmations.

A certification.

Someone else’s approval.

A relationship.

A certain amount of money.

A particular achievement.

Even our suffering.

There is nothing wrong with any of these things. Crystals can be beautiful. Healing practices can be transformative. Accomplishments can be meaningful. Our experiences can teach us profound lessons.

But what if none of these things are what gives us permission to receive?

What if they were never meant to be proof that we’ve earned the right to experience the life we desire?

From a spiritual perspective, consider something much deeper:

You are an expression of Source having a human experience.

Whether you call it God, Source Energy, Infinite Intelligence, Divine Love, Spirit, or something else, the essence is the same: you come from something greater than the limitations you may have learned to place upon yourself.

You don’t have to suffer enough to justify happiness.

You don’t have to work hard enough to justify abundance.

You don’t have to heal enough to justify love.

You don’t have to accomplish enough to justify success.

And you don’t have to become a completely different version of yourself before you can begin enjoying your life.

Look at how subtly this can show up.

We may believe we need to lose weight before we’re allowed to feel beautiful or dress a certain way.

We may postpone joy until the house is clean, the work is finished, or the relationship is perfect or others are happy.

We may believe we need someone’s apology before we can feel free.

We may think we need to prove ourselves to our family before we’re allowed to choose a different life.

We may even believe that our past pain gives us permission to finally want more.

But your suffering is not the currency you have to spend in order to purchase a better life.

Your accomplishments are not the price of admission to abundance.

And someone else’s approval is not the authority that determines what you are allowed to experience.

Your life does not have to be justified before it can be fully lived.

Use the crystal if it inspires you.

Meditate if it connects you.

Work with a healer if it supports you.

Set goals. Follow inspired action. Learn. Grow. Heal. Create beautiful rituals.

But let these things be tools for your journey—not evidence that you have finally earned the right to receive.

Perhaps the deeper question isn’t:

“What do I need to do to deserve what I want?”

Perhaps it is:

“What would I allow myself to receive if I stopped requiring proof?”

What if you could want more without explaining why?

What if you could experience joy without needing to justify it?

What if abundance didn’t have to be compensation for everything you’ve endured?

What if love didn’t have to be earned through perfection?

What if you could simply allow life to be good—not because you’ve finally paid your dues, but because you are here to experience it?

You are not separate from the Source that created you.

You are an expression of it.

And perhaps one of the greatest acts of spiritual healing is releasing the belief that you must constantly prove you are deserving of the life your soul is calling you toward.

**You don’t need a permission slip.

You can receive.
You can expand.
You can experience joy.
You can desire more.
You can allow life to surprise you.**

Not because you finally became enough.

But because you were never lacking in the first place.

“You Are the Change”
With love,
Yvette
